Section Four: Authority of
the Membership
The membership of Valley View Baptist
Church shall be the final authority in all decisions that pertain to the
ministry of the church. The congregation shall exercise this
authority by vesting authority to the Ministry Council
to oversee the day-to-day operations of the church. Should a
member of the Ministry Council be unable or unwilling to fulfill their
obligations, procedures have been herein established to ensure that the
congregation may retract any authority that has been vested by this
church to that member of the Ministry Council.
The following items can only be approved by
the congregation: the approval or changing of the church’s budget; the
appointment or dismissal of Elders, Deacons, and members of the
Stewardship Ministry; the acceptance of an individual into the church
membership as described in this Constitution; the removal of an
individual from the church membership as described in this
Constitution; the sale or acquisition of property; any alterations to
the property of the church over $5,000; and making changes to this
Constitution.
