Article VIII - Membership
Section Two: How to Become a
Member
An individual may become a member of
Valley View Baptist Church after the following procedure has been
completed. Any individual desiring membership in Valley View Baptist
Church shall participate in a new-member orientation in which shall be
taught the definition of membership found in Article VIII Section One of
this Constitution, and the basic structure of Valley View Baptist
Church. After the individual has completed the new-member
orientation, and it is found that he/she meets the definition of
membership found in Article VIII Section One of this Constitution,
he/she will be given an opportunity to come before the congregation of
this church and formally sign The Solemn Covenant of Valley View Baptist
Church. At the time of the signing of the Solemn Covenant the
individual shall become a member of Valley View Baptist Church. If
the individual was a member of another Southern Baptist church at the
signing of the Solemn Covenant, a letter shall be sent to their former
church requesting that their membership be transferred to Valley View
Baptist Church.
Charter members of Valley View Baptist
Church shall become members in good standing at the signing of The
Solemn Covenant of Valley View Baptist Church at the constitution of
this church.
