Article XIII - Paid Staff
In the event that a need arises that can only be
filled by a paid individual, the Elders shall seek from the membership
of Valley View Baptist Church, whenever possible, a qualified person to
fill that position and make a recommendation to the Ministry Council.
If at least two thirds (2/3) of the members of the Ministry Council
agree to such a need, and the Stewardship Ministry affirms that a viable
salary can be paid to this individual, an adjusted budget shall be
presented to the church for approval at a special meeting called for
that purpose. The special meeting shall be announced from the
pulpit by an Elder on a Sunday morning at a regularly-scheduled worship
service for the purpose of presenting the revised budget to the
congregation for a vote. The special meeting shall be held no more
than three days from the announcement, and the purpose and time of the
meeting shall be mentioned in the announcement. Upon approval of
the change in budget by a majority vote of the members present at the
special meeting, the position shall be filled.
The dismissal of any paid staff shall be at the
discretion of the Pastor.
